Task 10: Creating a video with Picassa

By using Picassa we can create videos with our favourite photographies. In this case, our students will have to create one about one of their favourite trips, then, they have to tell us what they liked and what they do not liked in the trip. In this way, they can practice their oral skills.

The evaluation will be about the originality in the video and the presentation of the trip at the end of it. It will be:

Originality: 40%
Presentation: 60%

Task 9: PowerPoint auto-executable

This power point is created because of the environmental day and its main purpose is to make our students aware of how bad the environment is in our planted and how we, the humans, are making it worse by abusing of everything.

Task 8: Create a Pass the paper Powerpoint 

The content of this Pass the paper powepoint deals with the learning of culture in the English classroom. After reading a book about New York, about it history, its customs, its festivities...our students will be able to talk about what they have read and to use the English they know and speak in class. 

They will talk about what they know in a dynamic way by creating this kind of presentation.

Task 7: Listening Worksheet from ESL Short stories  

Nancy was new to America. She came  America speaking only her native language. She  her 8-year-old son with her. He was  she had in the world.

They found  apartment in Arcadia. They were there for  two months when a neighbor’s dog jumped  the fence. The dog ran toward Nancy’s . Nancy put her body in between the  and her son. The dog stopped when  saw Nancy screaming at it. She was  to punch it in the nose. The  turned around.

Shaking, Nancy took her son . They stayed in the apartment all weekend.  Nancy found another apartment, close to the  that her son was going to attend.

 and her son walked everywhere. One day  son started coughing badly. He had an  attack. All the walking was making his  worse.

Nancy knew that she had to  a car. So she called up the  dealer. She talked to a salesman who  her language. She told him that she  to buy a new car if he come over to pick her up. The  said he would be right over.

Task 6: Create a video with Animoto

For this task, we have created an Animoto based on the International day of friendship (30 of July), so we want our students to think about their friends and tell us through Animoto the best moments they had by showing some photographs. 

In order to be able to produce this exercise, our students must be from 4th of ESO, after reviewing the unit that deals with human relationships, in this case, friendship. 

We will asses the originality in the production and the usage of vocabulary learnt in the unit.

Task 5: Write a book with Tar Heel Reader

In this written book we can find the story of William Shakespeare. The main idea is that, once they have reviewed the biography and the teacher presented it in the way he/she wants the students to do it, in groups, they write a different one in story form and changing the ending. The students can introduce all the ideas they have and we can avoid the simple copy and paste from the Internet. In this way they will learn to write in English.

This activity is aimed at 4th of ESO when they have dealt with the major part of the grammar specified in the contents of the course such as past simple and continuos, the perfect tenses..so they can keep it in the past but being innovative by introducing new data. This exercise can be part of an introductory session CLIL about literature, when dealing with the biography of an author, so can be also devoted to 2nd of Bachillerato students coursing universal literature. 

The asessment will take into account the originality when making up facts about Shakespeare, the level of grammar used, the spelling and, obviously, the writting.
